About Vantis

We started Vantis to build the homes we’d choose for our own families.

Residential towers of different heights stepping up behind a paved, planted courtyard.

We think a home is made in the small decisions. How the light falls across a room. What the windows look out on. Where the trees will stand, and how much open space is left around them.

These are easy to leave for later. We chose to start with them.

Our homes

What goes into a Vantis home

Five things we chose to start with. The first two shape every home. The rest shape the days you spend around it.

  1. A bright living room with a low sofa, a wooden coffee table and glass doors opening onto a balcony above the treetops.

    Less decoration. More thought.

Clean lines, natural light, honest materials. Spaces that look calm rather than loud.

  2. A wide lawn with a curving walkway and a bench, with modern apartment buildings set back behind the trees.

We plan the open spaces before we plan the walls.

Trees, walkways, room to breathe. Planned first, not left over.

  3. Two children, one cycling in a helmet, heading off along a car-free walkway lined with hedges.

Built so your children can run ahead of you.

Play kept away from traffic, and in plain sight of home.

  4. An elderly couple on a garden bench, watching a morning yoga group on the lawn and a child at play.

A place for the morning walk, the evening play, and everything in between.

Somewhere for grandparents to walk, sit and meet friends.

  5. A child filling a glass with clear water at a kitchen tap.

Drink straight from any tap, the way people do in developed countries.

All the water is treated in-house before it reaches your home. It changes small things every day: appliances that last longer, and water that is kinder to your skin and hair.

The question behind every decision

Would we be happy living here, with our parents and our children?

If the answer is not a clear yes, we go back and think again.

How we work

The order we make decisions in

Most of what makes a home good to live in is settled long before the first wall goes up. So that is where we spend our time.

  1. Open space first

Trees, walkways and open ground are placed before anything else. The buildings are arranged around them.

  2. Then light and air

Each home is planned for daylight, for moving air, and for what its windows look out on.

  3. Then the everyday

Where children play. Where grandparents walk. How the water reaches your tap.

  4. Then the question

Before anything is fixed, we ask whether we would live here ourselves.
